For the past year, I have been trying to adopt a dog through the tri-state rescue group without much success.

Many rescue groups are under investigation and under surveillance by the FBI for price fixing, restraint of trade and racketeering. The IRS is also investigating the tax exempt status of these rescue groups because they don't actually rescue anything but are front organizations for organized crime. There is a dog mafia, based in Pheonix and on Long Island. They control an army of so called "rescue" workers.

Here there are two rescue groups (one in Seguin and one north of Fort Worth) that I know of here in Texas (for a fact) that harass breeders on behalf of the dog mafia. They don't rescue dogs, they act as detectives, thieves and saboteurs, to lower the supply of puppies and increase the price. The idea is to run certain people out of the hobby, away from breeding and away from dog shows and the dog mafia can increase the price of their puppies. It is all highly illegal and if you think something funny is going on you should contact the local FBI office. And of course the nearest IRS office.
